This studio for undergraduate year 2 students explores creative process, the realms of imagination, art and design practices through viewing, experiencing, reading and, ultimately, producing form. Skills of representation and fabrication are introduced in the context of the development of each student’s capacity to observe, interpret and translate design concepts into physical form.

Studio Explore I (term 1) focus on developing hands-on skills with drawing, mapping, making, casting, to discover spatial and formal qualities through tactile experience.

Studio Explore II (term 2) builds upon the tools and processes introduced, drawing upon inspiration from the urban environment and site-specific art to create a conceptual project that engages with the body and landscape.
